This page was designed to be viewed in Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher with a resolution of 800x600 or higher.

System Requirements:

• Computer: SGI
• Operating System: IRIX 6.5 or above
• CPU: MIPS R4400 minimum (R12000 recommended)
• Hard Disk: 5 Mb free space on drive
• Graphics: 256 color minimum (Truecolor recommended)

Installation Instructions:

• Choose an installation directory (for illustration assume /usr/local/rdc)
• cd /usr/local
• Select mips 3 or mips 4 configuration (for illustration mips 3)
• Download rdc34mips3.tar.gz
• gunzip rdc34mips3.tar.gz
• tar xvf rdc34mips3.tar
• In sh or ksh, make these changes to .profile:
  • If you didn't know the root password above:
    • RDCROOT=~/usr/local/rdc; export RDCROOT
    Otherwise:
    • RDCROOT=/usr/local/rdc; export RDCROOT
  • Add $RDCROOT/bin32/mips3 to PATH
  • Add $RDCROOT/lib32/mips3 to LD_LIBRARY_PATH
  • Make changes active with ". .profile"
• In csh or tcsh, make these changes to .cshrc:
  • If you didn't know the root password above:
    • setenv RDCROOT ~/usr/local/rdc
    Otherwise:
    • setenv RDCROOT /usr/local/rdc
  • Add $RDCROOT/bin32/mips3 to PATH
  • Add $RDCROOT/lib32/mips3 to LD_LIBRARY_PATH
  • Make changes active with "source .cshrc"
• Test: renderdc $RDCROOT/examples/morph.rib
